The Adams county Health Department contracts with our local school districts to provide nursing care to the students. Having nurses in each school building enables the schools to provide a healthier school enviroment for the students, especially those with chronic health issues. The nurses also conduct screenings for hearing, vision, and scoliosis each year. Currently, the Health Department has one nurse at Manchester school, one nurse at North Adams schools, and one nurse at Peebles schools, as well as two nurses at West Union schools.
